Two new MDARD MAEAP verifiers will begin work on October 1.
Providing coverage in the NE/UP (counties covered by this position include Roscommon, Ogemaw, Iosco, Alcona, Oscoda, Crawford, Alpena, Montmorency, Otsego, Presque Isle, Cheboygan, Charlevoix, Emmet and the entire Upper Peninsula) will be Erin Satchell. Erin is currently employed by Chippewa Luce Mackinac Conservation District as a Conservation Engineer. Erin has degrees in both Civil and Environmental Engineering as well as a graduate certificate in Sustainability…all from Michigan Tech. He farmed for 10 years as a partner and then sole managing partner for all operations on a 1200 acre, 300 cow dairy in the Thumb. Erin and his family live in Goetzville in the eastern UP.
Providing coverage for the WC/NW (counties covered by this position include Ottawa, Kent, Muskegon, Newaygo, Oceana, Mason, Lake, Wexford, Manistee, Kalkaska, Grand Traverse, Benzie, Leelanau and Antrim) will be Dan Busby. Dan is currently employed by the Grand Traverse Conservation District as a MAEAP Technician. Dan’s degree in Conservation/Ecology is from Northern Michigan University. Dan was also a managing partner for B and D Builders for 8 years. Dan and his family live in Mesick.
Both Erin and Dan’s skills and abilities will enable them to step quickly into these new positions. They each competed successfully in very qualified pools of candidates. Their existing group of partners and supporters will enable them to quickly emerge as resource and technical experts for their regions.
