MACD is excited to have Bobby Whitescarver as our Opening Lunch Keynote Speaker...
Robert “Bobby” Whitescarver is a farmer, conservationist, award winning writer and educator and will be talking about the “Seven Principles” for “getting more conservation on the ground.” Now retired from NRCS his principles enabled him to lead his SWCD team to be the first District in Virginia to reach its 40% pollution reduction goals for the Chesapeake Bay Agreement.
Bobby graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Agronomy and obtained a Masters degree from James Madison University. He was the recipient of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s “Conservationist of the Year” in 2002 and “Watershed Champion” for the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay in 2016. He is president of Whitescarver Natural Resources Management LLC, a private consulting firm, and is a certified Nutrient Management Planner in Virginia.
